Welcome Lei Zhao: Achen Henderson’s New Cross-Border Tax Leader
To help us meet the incredible demand for our cross-border tax services, we’re excited to welcome Lei Zhao, CPA (U.S., ND) • CPA, CGA (Canada) as the newest member of the Achen Henderson team.
Lei brings more than a decade of deep expertise in U.S. and Canadian cross border tax, having worked with individuals, corporations, partnerships, and high-net worth clients across a wide range of industries. Her career spans several respected national and global tax firms, where she managed large, complex engagements, led teams through demanding filing seasons, and represented clients directly before the IRS.
What sets Lei apart is not just her technical strength—though she has plenty of that. She’s known for her strategic thinking, her calm and collaborative approach, and her ability to break down complex tax issues into clear, actionable guidance. With her strong business acumen and process improvement mindset, Lei has helped streamline workflows, elevate training programs, and support both clients and colleagues with confidence and care.
Lei holds a Master of Legal Studies in Taxation (with honors) and dual CPA designations in the U.S. and Canada. Her blend of technical precision, practical insight, and genuine dedication to helping people makes her a perfect fit for our client-focused culture at Achen Henderson.
Outside of work, Lei enjoys traveling, discovering new dining experiences, spending quality time with family and friends, and learning new technologies—interests that reflect her curiosity, connection, and continuous learning spirit.
