Achen Henderson Retreat 2025: Boracay, Philippines
Last October 30 to November 2, 2025, the Achen Henderson team gathered in the world-famous island of Boracay, Philippines for a meaningful and joy filled company retreat. Designed to strengthen relationships, align goals, and celebrate the growth of both the Canada and Philippines based teams, the retreat brought together key leaders and staff for four unforgettable days in paradise.
A Retreat That Goes Beyond Vacation
For the second time, Achen Henderson has hosted a special retreat that brings together partners and managers from Canada with the Philippine team—a tradition that captures the heart of AH’s culture. While our teams collaborate virtually across borders every day, this event is the rare moment where everyone meets in person to strengthen the relationships built behind the screens.
The purpose of the retreat is to:
- Build deeper cross-border relationships
- Showcase and reinforce AH’s unique work culture
- Create space for fun, rest, and connection
- Celebrate the collaborative spirit that keeps AH thriving
It’s not just a company event — it’s a celebration of people, purpose, and partnership.
Why This Retreat Mattered
More than the beaches, food, and activities, the 2025 Boracay retreat symbolized:
🌟 Stronger Global Collaboration
Meeting face-to-face strengthened communication and trust between the Canadian and Philippine teams.
🌟 A Reflection of AH’s Culture
The retreat embodied AH’s belief that people are the heart of the firm — deserving of rest, recognition, and meaningful connection.
🌟 Celebrating Shared Success
By investing in shared human experiences, AH honored not only the work done throughout the year but the relationships that make that work possible.
Looking Ahead
Returning home refreshed and inspired, the team carried with them the energy, unity, and gratitude sparked by those four days in Boracay. As Achen Henderson continues to grow, traditions like this retreat serve as powerful reminders of what sets the firm apart: genuine connection, shared values, and a culture that invests deeply in its people.
Here’s to even stronger bonds — and to the next unforgettable AH Retreat!
“I’m grateful to have joined the company retreat in my first year. It exceeded my expectations as I met the PH team and connected with partners from Canada in a warm, welcoming atmosphere. The retreat helped us move from workplace strangers to colleagues we can easily collaborate with, and what stood out most was the genuine camaraderie and fun. Our Canadian partners were especially engaging, sharing stories, ensuring we enjoyed ourselves, and prioritizing our safety during the upcoming typhoon looming at that time. With Boracay’s beautiful setting as the backdrop, it was an enjoyable experience, and I’m thankful to the company for making it possible.” – Debbie Mae Booc, Senior Accountant
“There were a couple of firsts for me during this company retreat! It was my first time in Boracay, and every sight was breathtaking. More importantly, it was my first time meeting Clayton, George, and Roni in person. I had been looking forward to this retreat so much that I couldn’t believe I was finally seeing them outside of a screen. From day one at the airport to the last day of the trip, we caught up with each other, shared stories, and talked about the cultural differences between Canada and the Philippines. On the way to our accommodation, I realized they felt more like three friends than bosses. Clayton offered to carry the girls’ luggage, George asked about things in the Philippines (like dogs and goats roaming the streets), and Roni made sure we were all comfortable. This trip strengthened my respect and camaraderie with them even more. We also visited many places around Boracay. Our accommodation had a stunning view of the horizon. The beach stations were picturesque everywhere you looked. And of course, the food was delicious – I don’t think I’ve ever eaten that much crab in my life. All of it became a core memory for me. Wherever the next company retreat will be, I’m already looking forward to seeing our three friends from Canada again. I hope the other leaders can join us in the Philippines next time, too!” – Josh Barrameda, Manager
