How Do You Build a Brand People Trust? Wagefest 2026

We’re excited to announce that Clayton Achen, Partner at Achen Henderson CPAs, will be speaking at Wagefest 2026, a free, virtual event on October 23, Friday (2:15 PM – 3:15 PM) for anyone whose work touches Canadian payroll.

If you’re a business owner who wants clients to choose from you, refer you and keep coming back, this is one session worth adding to your calendar.

What Is Clayton Speaking About at Wagefest 2026?

Clayton’s session, Building a Personal Brand People Actually Trust, is for professionals whose reputation already does some of the marketing for them: the ones people refer, hire and come back to without a highlight reel.

Clayton will talk candidly about what’s worked, and what hasn’t, in building that kind of trust as a partner at a growing Calgary accounting firm. No gimmicks, no polished personal brand formula. Just real lessons from the field.

Why Does a Trusted Personal Brand Matter for Business Owners?

For small and mid-sized businesses in Calgary and across Alberta, growth often comes down to word of mouth. When people trust you, they refer you. When they refer you, you spend less time chasing new clients and more time serving the ones you have.

A personal brand built on trust isn’t about being louder online. It’s about being consistent, credible, and easy to recommend, and that’s exactly what this session explores.

Who Should Attend This Session?

  • Business owners who rely on referrals and repeat clients to grow
  • Accountants and bookkeepers building or growing a practice
  • Founders and professionals who want to market themselves without feeling like they’re selling
  • Small business employers looking for practical, trusted insight into Canadian payroll

What Else Does Wagefest 2026 Offer?

Hosted by Wagepoint, Wagefest is free and fully virtual, with CPD-eligible learning tracks for both small business employers and bookkeepers and accountants.
